Comments:
- I would like a Membership Committee rather than a Polling Commission per se, with more flexibility as to numbers and mandate. The bylaws should define the duties, subject to the will of the membership.
- I don't see the point in answering this generally without having any idea what the polls would be about.
- The need to consult members on all constitutional and general policy matters needs to be enshrined within the constitution itself.
- Joop - depending on how tightly the roles of the officers are defined. This may be un-nescessary if the roles are properly defined
- Polling is a good tool. Results of polls should be published.
- representatives should be able to express their view of a consensus position and be accountable for that in subsequent elections. Polling on every issue is an ineffective means of governance.
- keep this function in the core group
- Can always be changed/eliminated later on if Polling Commision doesn't work well.
